Play Dark Wizard Online
The Dark Wizard is a Sega CD/Mega-CD game released in 1994 by the Japanese developer Nihon Bussan. It is a side-scrolling action role-playing game (RPG) with elements of both adventure and puzzle solving. The story follows the journeys of three young heroes, each hailing from different lands and with different goals, as they battle their way through hordes of monsters and treacherous dungeons to reach their ultimate destination: the Tower of Darkness.
The game begins in the Kingdom of Granseal, where the player takes control of one of the three protagonists: Rachel, a brave female warrior; Duran, an adventurous youth; or Hawk, a master swordsman. After gathering together for their quest, the trio embarks on an epic journey across the kingdom to confront an evil wizard known as “The Dark Wizard” who has been wreaking havoc throughout Granseal. Along the way they must battle creatures such as goblins, dragons and giant spiders while also exploring ancient ruins and solving puzzles to progress through dungeons. As they explore further into their adventure they will come across powerful magical items that can be used to aid them in their fight against The Dark Wizard and his minions.
Throughout their journey players will need to use strategic thinking in order to solve puzzles and progress through dungeons, as well as use careful planning when fighting enemies in battles. Each character has special skills that can be used during combat such as magic spells or physical attacks that can be combined for devastating combos. Additionally there are various items that can be collected throughout the game which can help restore HP or MP (Magic Points).
Once they have reached the Tower of Darkness, players must do battle with The Dark Wizard himself before finally confronting him in a final showdown. Once defeated The Dark Wizard relinquishes his power over Granseal and peace is restored within the kingdom once more.
Dark Wizard is considered one of the best RPGs available on Sega CD/Mega-CD due to its immersive story line and engaging gameplay mechanics which combine elements from both action games and RPG’s alike. With its beautiful 16-bit graphics accompanied by an atmospheric soundtrack it’s easy to see why this classic title still stands out today amongst other games released on this system.
