Vay is an action role-playing game developed by Wolf Team and published by Sega for the Sega CD/Mega-CD in 1994. It is the first game in the Vay series and was followed by a sequel, Vay II: Ushinawareta Kizuna.

The game is set in a world where magic and technology coexist, with humans living alongside elves, dwarves, and other fantasy races. The player controls a party of four characters: the hero, Valna; her childhood friend Lyar; their mentor Paznos; and the mysterious sorcerer Rangy. The story follows the group as they travel across the continent of Isefel to save Valna's father from his captors. Along the way, they become embroiled in a conflict between two powerful nations and must use their wits to survive.

Gameplay consists of navigating dungeons, engaging in turn-based battles with enemies, selecting spells or items to use during combat, and solving puzzles throughout each dungeon. Battles feature multiple enemies on screen at once which can be attacked either individually or as a group. Spells are cast using resources called "spell points", which can be replenished by sleeping at inns or using items. Puzzle-solving involves manipulating objects within each dungeon such as switches and levers to open doors or create platforms to access higher levels.

Vay features anime-style cutscenes created by renowned animator Yoshiaki Kawajiri that advance the story between dungeons. The game also includes fully voiced dialogue between characters during cutscenes as well as several minigames that can be played for bonus items or experience points used to level up characters' stats.

Overall, Vay offers an engaging experience combining elements of fantasy RPGs with classic puzzle-solving gameplay that remains enjoyable even today thanks to its vibrant art style and memorable characters.
