The Terminator is a 1993 Sega CD (Mega-CD) action game based on the movie of the same name. It was developed by Probe Software and published by Virgin Interactive. The game puts players in the shoes of Kyle Reese, a soldier sent back to 1984 Los Angeles to protect Sarah Connor from a relentless killing machine known as the Terminator.

Players must battle their way through various levels filled with enemies and obstacles as they make their way to Sarah Connor. Along the way, they can pick up various items that will help them in their mission, such as weapons, armor, health packs and keys for locked doors. In addition to fighting enemies, Kyle must also solve puzzles and search for clues in order to progress further into the game.

The Terminator features an intuitive control system that allows players to move around freely while aiming and shooting their weapons at enemies. Players can also duck behind objects for cover or use stealth tactics to avoid detection from foes. The game also has multiple difficulty settings which change how much damage enemies can take before they are defeated.

The visuals of The Terminator are quite impressive considering its age; sprites have detailed animations and backgrounds feature plenty of color and texture. Music is mostly made up of tunes taken directly from the movie soundtrack, adding an extra level of atmosphere to each stage.

Overall, The Terminator is an enjoyable action title that fans of both the movie series and Sega CD should find appealing. It may not be as revolutionary as some other titles on the platform but it still manages to capture the essence of what makes this franchise so iconic: intense shootouts against powerful machines intent on destroying humanity!
