Sherlock Holmes: Consulting Detective is an adventure game developed by ICOM Simulations and released for the Sega CD/Mega-CD in 1993. It is based on the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and stars the eponymous detective, Sherlock Holmes. The player takes on the role of Sherlock Holmes, who must solve a series of mysteries using deduction, observation and logical reasoning.

The game consists of three cases taken from the original stories written by Doyle. The first case is "The Case of the Mummy's Curse", which involves investigating a mysterious death in London's East End. The second case is "The Case of the Tin Soldier", which revolves around a missing toy soldier and a murder at a wax museum. Finally, there is "The Case of the Mystified Murderess", which involves finding out who killed a woman dressed as an Egyptian queen. In each case, you will visit various locations around London to gather clues and evidence, interview witnesses, and piece together the mystery. You'll also have access to resources such as newspapers, books, maps and other documents that can help you with your investigation.

At any time during your investigation you can consult with Sherlock's trusty sidekick Dr Watson for advice or assistance in solving puzzles or understanding clues. He will also provide useful information about certain characters or locations that may be relevant to your investigation. As well as this help from Watson, you can also consult with various experts in their fields such as Professor Moriarty or Inspector Lestrade if needed.

Once all your evidence has been gathered up and examined it’s time to make your deductions! At this point you must use all your knowledge and skills to come to an accurate conclusion about what happened in each case; was it murder? Was it suicide? Who is responsible? Once you have solved each case successfully Sherlock will present his findings to Scotland Yard for their consideration; if he has correctly solved each mystery he will be rewarded with recognition from his peers for his deductive prowess!
