The player has control over pitching and batting as well as fielding. During batting the player can choose whether to swing or take a pitch by pressing up or down on the directional pad. Pitching involves selecting a pitch type and then aiming it by moving the cursor around with the d-pad before pressing A to throw it. Fielding is also controlled with the d-pad as players move their fielder around to catch or field balls hit by opposing batters.
The game features an extensive range of options which include practice mode where players can hone their skills without any pressure, exhibition mode which allows two teams to play against each other in one game and tournament mode where up to eight teams compete against each other in a championship series. Players can also customize their teams by trading players between teams or drafting new ones from various leagues across Japan.
