The plot of the game involves Captain America and his team of Avengers fighting against the Red Skull and his criminal organization, HYDRA. In each level, the player must complete various tasks such as defeating enemies, collecting power-ups, and rescuing hostages. The player can switch between any of the five heroes at any time during the game in order to best utilize their unique abilities.
