Wolf Child is a side-scrolling action game developed and published by Core Design for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). It was released in 1992 and is loosely based on the 1981 film Wolfen.
The game stars a half-man, half-wolf named Ryback who must save his kidnapped love interest, Lora from the evil Dr. Kain. The game consists of seven levels set in various locations including a castle, desert, forest, and tundra. The player must traverse each level while avoiding enemies and obstacles as well as finding power-ups to help him progress further. There are also several boss battles at the end of each level that must be defeated before progressing to the next level.
The gameplay of Wolf Child is similar to many other platformers of its time. The player controls Ryback with the d-pad and can jump, attack enemies with his claws or use special attacks such as fireballs or lightning bolts. In addition to these basic skills, Ryback can also transform into a wolf which gives him additional abilities such as higher jumps and faster running speed.
The graphics in Wolf Child are quite good for its time period with detailed backgrounds and sprites that look quite realistic considering the technology available at that time. The music is also quite nice with catchy tunes that fit well with the atmosphere of each stage.
Overall, Wolf Child is an enjoyable action platformer for fans of the genre looking for something different than their typical Mario or Sonic games. It has good visuals and audio, challenging levels, interesting bosses, and a great story that keeps you hooked until you reach its satisfying conclusion.
