Time Trax is a side-scrolling action-adventure game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) released in 1993. The game was developed and published by Data East USA and follows the story of an artificial intelligence known as “Trax”, who is sent back in time to stop criminals from altering history.

Players take control of Trax, a humanoid robot created by scientist Dr. Richard Eisenmann to help protect the world from criminals who are trying to change history. Trax must travel through various points in time, using his laser gun and energy shield to battle enemies such as robots, aliens, dinosaurs and other creatures. Along the way he must also collect items such as keys and power-ups that will help him progress through each level.

The game features a variety of levels set in different historical periods including ancient Egypt, medieval Europe, the American Revolution and World War II. Each level features unique enemies and obstacles that must be overcome before progressing further into the game. As players progress they will encounter boss battles which require careful strategy to defeat them.

Time Trax also includes several mini-games that can be unlocked throughout the course of the adventure. These mini-games include puzzle solving challenges such as matching three gems or navigating mazes, as well as action-oriented ones like shooting targets with a gun or hitting balls with bats. These mini-games add variety to the overall experience and give players an opportunity to test their skills outside of traditional combat scenarios.

In addition to its single player mode, Time Trax also supports two player cooperative play via link cable connection allowing two people to play simultaneously on one SNES console. This adds an extra layer of challenge when tackling difficult levels or bosses but can also provide some much needed assistance when playing alone if both players are skilled enough at controlling their characters effectively.
