The game stars Radical Rex, a fire-breathing Tyrannosaurus rex with an attitude, who embarks on a quest to save his beloved volcano home from the evil sorcerer Sethron.
The player controls Radical Rex as he traverses seven different levels, each with its own distinct theme. These include jungles, deserts, ice worlds and ancient ruins. As well as jumping across platforms and avoiding enemies, Radical Rex can also use his fire breath to defeat enemies or activate switches. Additionally, he can collect power-ups such as invincibility stars which grant temporary invulnerability.
Along the way players will find helpful animal friends who provide advice and items to help them progress through the levels. There are also hidden bonus areas that lead to secret levels with extra lives and power ups.
In addition to the main single player mode there is also a two-player cooperative mode where one player controls Radical Rex while the other assists him by collecting items and fighting enemies.
The graphics of the game are bright and colourful, featuring detailed backgrounds and characters that move smoothly across the screen. The music is upbeat and catchy, adding energy to every level.
Overall, Radical Rex is an enjoyable platformer that provides hours of fun for both novice and experienced gamers alike. With its vibrant visuals and engaging gameplay it remains one of the best Super Nintendo games of all time.
