Ashita no Joe is a Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) game released in 1994. It is based on the popular manga and anime series of the same name. The game follows the story of aspiring boxer Joe Yabuki as he struggles to make it to the top of the boxing world.

The player takes control of Joe as he battles his way through a variety of opponents in an effort to become champion. Each fight consists of three rounds, with each round featuring its own unique gameplay style. In the first round, the player has to use their punches, kicks and blocks to defeat their opponent. In the second round, they must dodge their opponent’s attacks while attempting to land their own. Finally, in the third round, they must successfully counterattack their opponent’s moves to win.

The game features a range of different modes and options that can be used to customize Joe’s skills and abilities. This includes training mode where players can improve his stats such as power and speed; tournament mode where they can take part in tournaments against other boxers; and exhibition mode where they can challenge other players in one-on-one fights. Players also have access to a number of special moves that can be used during fights which include powerful uppercuts, jabs and hooks.

The graphics are detailed and colorful with realistic animation for all characters including Joe himself who looks true to life from his anime counterpart. The sound effects are also impressive with digitized voice clips from the anime being used for some characters during fights plus some catchy music tracks that fit perfectly with the action on screen.

Overall Ashita no Joe is an excellent SNES fighting game that fans of both boxing games and those familiar with the source material will enjoy playing for hours on end due to its great gameplay mechanics, huge range of customization options, vibrant visuals and exciting sound design.
