Battle Dodgeball is a game released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) in 1994. It is a two-player competitive sports video game developed and published by Japanese video game developer Varie. The game was released exclusively in Japan and never localized outside of the country.
In Battle Dodgeball, each player controls a team of four dodgeball players on a court divided into two halves. The objective of the game is to throw dodgeballs at the opposing team's players, knocking them out of bounds and off the court, while simultaneously dodging your opponent's throws. The first team to knock out all four opposing players wins the match.
The player can choose from three different teams to play as: the Power Team (which consists of two men and two women), the Crazy Team (which consists of four men) or the Junior Team (which consists of four children). Each team has their own unique abilities and attributes such as speed, power, agility, accuracy and special moves that can be used to gain an advantage over their opponents.
Matches are played in one-on-one rounds with each round lasting up to five minutes or until one team has knocked out all four members of their opponent’s team. In addition to regular matches, there are also special modes such as “Fever Time” which increases ball speed dramatically for a short period of time; “Power Ball” which increases ball size drastically; and “No Limit Ball” which removes all limits on ball size and speed for an incredibly chaotic experience.
The game features colorful visuals along with some catchy music that adds to its upbeat atmosphere. It also includes several options such as difficulty level, number of rounds per match, handicap settings and more that allow players to customize their experience according to their skill level or preference. Overall Battle Dodgeball is an enjoyable competitive sports title that offers an exciting challenge for those looking for something different than traditional sports titles like basketball or soccer games.
