Yie Ar Kung-Fu is a classic martial arts game that was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1985. Developed and published by Konami, it was one of the first fighting games to be released for console gaming. The game features a single player battling against 11 computer-controlled opponents in an effort to become the champion of martial arts.
The main character of Yie Ar Kung-Fu is Oolong, a young martial artist who must fight his way through various opponents in order to become the champion of martial arts. Each opponent has their own unique fighting style and special moves which Oolong must learn in order to defeat them. In addition to learning these moves, Oolong must also dodge and block attacks from his opponents in order to survive each round.
Yie Ar Kung-Fu places a great emphasis on timing and reflexes as well as strategic planning, as players must carefully time their attacks in order to land successful hits while avoiding enemy strikes. The controls are simple yet effective: players can move left or right, jump, crouch, punch or kick with either arm or leg, and perform special moves when needed. Special moves are performed by pressing two buttons simultaneously and can be used to deliver powerful blows or counter enemy attacks.
The graphics of Yie Ar Kung-Fu are simple yet effective; they look slightly dated now but were very impressive at the time of release. The music is also quite catchy and adds greatly to the overall atmosphere of the game.
Overall, Yie Ar Kung-Fu is an excellent fighting game for the NES that still holds up today due its simple yet effective gameplay mechanics and enjoyable visuals and audio design. It’s easy enough for anyone to pick up quickly but offers plenty of challenge for experienced gamers too; it’s no surprise that this classic has been ported onto numerous platforms since its original release over 30 years ago!
