Fist of the North Star is a classic side scrolling fighting game released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1989. It was developed by Toei Animation and published by Toei Company, Ltd. The game is based on the popular manga and anime series of the same name, which follows Kenshiro, a martial artist with incredible strength who travels through a post-apocalyptic world filled with violence.
The game follows Kenshiro as he fights his way through various levels against a variety of enemies. In each level, Kenshiro must defeat all enemies in order to progress to the next level. Enemies range from bandits to giant robots and even boss characters such as Jagi and Shin. As Kenshiro defeats each enemy he gains experience points which can be used to increase his health or power up his special moves. In addition to attacking enemies with punches and kicks, Kenshiro can also use powerful special moves that consume energy points. These special moves include Hokuto Hyakuretsu Ken (North Star Hundred Crack Fist), Nanto Suicho Ken (South Dipper Flying Water Fist), and Nanto Koshu Ken (South Dipper Ancient Tree Fist).
The graphics in Fist of the North Star are quite impressive for an NES game of its time – character sprites are well detailed and move fluidly during combat sequences. The music is also quite good – it’s fast-paced and exciting, perfectly capturing the intensity of the action on screen.
Overall, Fist of the North Star is an excellent NES game that captures the spirit of its source material perfectly. The fast paced combat sequences are intense and satisfying while the detailed graphics and catchy music create an immersive atmosphere that will keep you coming back for more!
