Smash TV is a classic Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) game released in 1990. The game was developed and published by Rare, the same company that produced some of the most popular games of all time such as Donkey Kong and GoldenEye 007. Smash TV is a top-down shooter game where players control a character who must battle their way through an arena filled with enemies and collect power-ups to help them survive. The goal of the game is to reach the end of each level and defeat the boss enemy in order to progress to the next level.
The game features two main characters: Max Force and Hawk Lightning. Max Force is a former soldier who has been given superhuman strength due to an experimental serum created by Professor Victor Voss. Hawk Lightning is a former street fighter who has been trained in martial arts by Kano, leader of the Street Fighter tournament. Both characters have access to a variety of weapons including guns, grenades, rocket launchers, and laser guns. Players can also collect power-ups such as extra lives, shields, bonus points, invincibility, and more.
The objective of Smash TV is for players to make it through each level while collecting as many prizes as possible along the way. As players progress through levels they will encounter various enemies such as robots and aliens that must be destroyed in order for them to advance further into the game. There are also various power-ups scattered throughout each level which can be used to help defeat enemies or boost player stats such as speed or firepower.
Smash TV also features an innovative two-player mode where both players can control their own character onscreen at once while competing against one another for points and prizes. This mode added an extra layer of competition between friends or family members playing together which made it one of the most popular multiplayer games on the NES system at that time.
Smash TV has gone on to become one of the most beloved NES titles ever released with its unique blend of action and strategy making it enjoyable for both casual gamers as well as hardcore fans alike. It’s still considered one of Rare’s best works even today thanks in part to its simple yet addictive gameplay mechanics which have kept gamers coming back for more over two decades since its release in 1990.
