The Super Sprint is a racing video game released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1987. It was developed and published by Tengen, a subsidiary of Atari Games. The game was one of the first to feature four-player simultaneous play on the NES console.

The objective of Super Sprint is to race around an overhead top-down track in a car against three computer-controlled or human opponents. Players must navigate their vehicles around various obstacles and other cars while collecting power-ups in order to gain advantages over their opponents. With each lap completed, the track changes slightly with different obstacles appearing in different places each time.

Super Sprint offers several unique features that made it stand out from other racers at the time. The game includes three differently shaped tracks, each with its own unique obstacles and design elements that provide varied strategies for success. Players can choose from six different cars, each with its own strengths and weaknesses such as speed, acceleration, handling, and fuel efficiency. Additionally, players can use power-ups such as nitrous oxide boosts and oil slicks to gain an advantage over their opponents.

Super Sprint also features two gameplay modes: single player or multiplayer mode up to four players using either standard controllers or the NES Four Score adaptor for simultaneous play. In single player mode, players race against three computer controlled opponents on any of the three tracks available for selection. In multiplayer mode, up to four human players can compete against each other simultaneously on any of the three tracks available for selection. During races, players can crash into other cars which will slow them down temporarily; however crashing too much will cause them to be eliminated from the race altogether.

The graphics used in Super Sprint are quite basic but still manage to capture the essence of a real racing experience featuring detailed car designs and realistic obstacle placement on each track layout. The sound effects are also quite simple yet effective featuring realistic engine revving sounds when accelerating and crashing effects when colliding with other vehicles or objects on the track.

Super Sprint remains one of the most popular racing games ever released for the NES console due to its simple yet engaging gameplay mechanics and its ability to provide an exciting experience both alone or with friends via its multiplayer capabilities making it a great classic title that stands up well today even after more than 30 years since its initial release back in 1987!
