The player must also be aware of time limits which decrease as they progress through levels; failure to reach their destination within this time will cause Agent 17 to lose a life.

Its unique blend of action-adventure gameplay combined with platforming elements provided an immersive experience that was unlike any other game on the console at that time. It was also praised for its use of color and sound effects which added atmosphere and excitement throughout each level.
