AirForce Delta is an action flight simulator video game developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo and published by Konami for the Nintendo Game Boy Color.
It was released in Japan on December 17, 1999 and in North America on August 14, 2000.
The game puts players in the cockpit of a fighter jet with the objective of destroying enemy targets while avoiding enemy fire.
The player can choose from four different aircrafts: F-14 Tomcat, F/A-18 Hornet, A-10 Thunderbolt II and Su-27 Flanker.
Each aircraft has different characteristics such as speed, maneuverability and firepower.
The game also features two play modes: Arcade Mode which allows players to jump into a mission with no preparation; and Simulation Mode which requires players to go through pre-mission briefings before entering the mission.
In AirForce Delta, the player takes on missions against enemy forces over various terrains such as land, sea and air.
Missions range from intercepting enemy bombers to rescuing friendly forces from being shot down.
The player must complete objectives within a certain time limit while avoiding enemy fire or running out of fuel.
Players are rewarded with money for each successful mission that can be used to purchase new parts or weapons for their aircrafts.
Additionally, the player can also customize their planes paint job by selecting one of several preset patterns or creating their own design using an editor mode.
The game features a variety of weapons including machine guns, missiles and bombs that can be used to take down enemies or destroy ground targets such as radar sites and buildings.
In addition to engaging in combat against other aircrafts, players will also have to contend with anti-aircraft turrets and other ground defenses that must be destroyed before proceeding further into a mission area.
AirForce Delta features numerous power ups that can be collected throughout missions such as special weapons like heat seeking missiles or armor upgrades that increase the resilience of your plane during battle.
Additionally, there are also hidden bonus stages that can be unlocked after completing certain missions which offer unique challenges such as taking down multiple enemies at once or navigating through narrow passages without getting hit by enemy fire.
The graphics featured in AirForce Delta are detailed yet simple enough that they don't take away from the gameplay experience; while still offering some nice visuals during missions as well as when customizing your plane's paint job in the editor mode.
The music is also enjoyable providing a suitable backdrop for intense dogfights between you and your opponents while helping build tension during critical moments throughout each mission.
Overall, AirForce Delta is an enjoyable action flight simulator game featuring great graphics and sound along with plenty of customization options for your fighter jet allowing you to tailor it towards your own playstyle making it one of the best games available on the Nintendo Game Boy Color platform at its time of release
