A Surgical Strike is a 1993 Sega CD/Mega-CD shoot 'em up game developed by Video System Co. and published by Tengen. The game was released exclusively in Japan, and is one of the few games to be released on the Sega CD that wasn't later released in North America or Europe.

The game takes place in a future where Earth has become overpopulated and resources are scarce. In order to maintain order, a powerful military force called the United Nations Global Security Force (UNGSF) has been created. The player takes control of this force as they battle against aliens, terrorists, and other hostile forces in an effort to save humanity from destruction.

The gameplay of Surgical Strike consists of controlling a hovercraft-style vehicle from an overhead perspective across five levels. The player must navigate their way through each level while shooting down enemies with their weapons and avoiding obstacles along the way. As the player progresses through each level, they can upgrade their weapons and armor, as well as purchase additional power-ups such as extra lives and invincibility stars.

The graphics in Surgical Strike are quite impressive for its time, featuring detailed sprites for both enemies and environments, as well as smooth animation. The music is also noteworthy; it's composed by Masanori Hikichi who had previously worked on other Sega titles such as Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Streets of Rage II.

Surgical Strike is an enjoyable shooter that offers plenty of challenge with its intense action sequences, varied environments, and tough boss battles. It's definitely worth checking out if you have access to a Sega CD console or emulator!
