Super Monaco GP for the Sega Game Gear is a racing game developed and published by Sega in 1990. The game is based on the Formula One World Championship, and was re-released for the Master System in 1991. It was also ported to the Amiga, Atari ST, Commodore 64, and MS-DOS computers.
The player takes control of a Formula One race car driver in an attempt to win the championship. The game features three difficulty levels; Easy, Normal, and Hard. Each level features different tracks with varying degrees of difficulty. The tracks include Monaco, Hungary, Belgium, Italy, Great Britain, USA East Coast (Long Beach), Japan (Suzuka), and Brazil (Rio).
Players must complete each track within a certain time limit to move onto the next course. In addition to competing against other drivers in a race format, players may also participate in Time Trials or Practice Sessions. During Time Trials players can practice their driving skills while attempting to set new lap records on each track.
The graphics are quite detailed for their time and feature colorful backgrounds such as cityscapes or beachfronts depending on which track is chosen. The music is upbeat and adds a sense of excitement to the game play. There are also various sound effects that add realism to the action such as engine noise when accelerating or skidding out of control when turning corners too quickly.
Super Monaco GP also includes several power-ups that can be collected during races such as turbo boosts or extra speed ups that give players an edge over their opponents. Players can also customize their vehicles with upgrades such as better tires or improved acceleration capabilities.
Overall Super Monaco GP offers a great racing experience with plenty of challenge and replayability for fans of F1 racing games from its era. It's not only one of Sega's best efforts but still holds up today as one of the all-time classic racing games from any system
