Sonic Labyrinth is a 2D side-scrolling platformer game developed by Sega for the Game Gear in 1995. The game stars Sonic the Hedgehog, who is on a mission to find his way out of the mysterious Labyrinth Zone. As Sonic, the player must navigate through five levels filled with traps and enemies while collecting rings and power-ups along the way.
The main objective of Sonic Labyrinth is to collect all seven Chaos Emeralds hidden throughout the levels. To do this, Sonic must traverse each level while avoiding or defeating enemies, some of which include Eggman’s robots. In addition to these enemies, there are also various obstacles such as spikes and water that can cause damage. The player can use certain power-ups such as shields and invincibility to help protect against damage or gain an advantage against enemies.
Throughout each level, there are also several items that can be collected including rings and power-ups such as extra lives or speed shoes. Collecting rings will give points while collecting special items will grant bonus points at the end of each stage. However, if Sonic takes too much damage he will lose a life; if all lives are lost then it’s game over.
The player can save their progress after completing each stage by using a password system which allows them to continue from where they left off later on. Upon completing all five levels, Sonic will face Dr Robotnik in a final boss battle before escaping from the Labyrinth Zone once and for all!
Sonic Labyrinth is an enjoyable game that requires skillful maneuvering through tricky obstacles and enemies in order to succeed; making it an ideal choice for fans of platform games looking for something new to try out on their Game Gear console!
