Clutch Hitter is a baseball game developed and published by Sega for the Sega Game Gear in 1994. The game was designed to bring realistic baseball action to the small screen, with a fast-paced and arcade-style feel.

The main mode of play is the Exhibition Mode, which allows one or two players to choose from either a 9-inning game or a 3-inning match. Once the players have selected their teams (from 8 different teams), they can then customize their lineups and other settings like pitcher fatigue, pitch speed and ball spin. After that, the players are taken to an overhead view of the field where they can control their team's batting and pitching using simple button controls. The game also features various power ups such as extra speed for batting and increased accuracy for pitching.

The other mode of play is the League Mode, which allows up to four players to compete in a season long competition against each other. In this mode, each player will take turns playing as each team in order to accumulate wins over time and become league champions at the end of the season. This adds an additional level of strategy as players can try to outwit their opponents by selecting certain team combinations that give them an advantage over their opponents.

In addition to these two modes of play, Clutch Hitter also includes several mini games such as Home Run Derby and Batting Practice where players can hone their skills before taking on a full game or league season. These mini games provide some light relief from what would otherwise be quite a serious affair!

Overall Clutch Hitter provides an enjoyable gaming experience with its fast paced action and easy-to-use controls. It's not quite as detailed or comprehensive as some more modern baseball titles but it still offers plenty of fun for those looking for a quick fix of sports entertainment on the go!
