Foreman for Real is a boxing video game developed by Sega for the Game Gear in 1992. The player assumes the role of a professional boxer, George Foreman, and must box through five opponents to become world champion.
The game begins with an introduction sequence featuring Foreman in a boxing ring, being introduced by the ring announcer. Following this, the player is taken to the character select screen where they can choose from five different opponents to face in the ring. Depending on their selection, each opponent has different attributes such as speed, strength and stamina. After selecting an opponent, the player is taken to the main menu where they can adjust various settings such as difficulty level and number of rounds.
Once in-game, players control Foreman with a joystick or directional buttons and use attack buttons to throw punches at their opponent. Each punch thrown will cause damage to both fighters depending on their respective stats. As damage accumulates over time, players must manage their health bar and attempt to knock out their opponent before running out of energy themselves.
Foreman for Real features several modes of play including single-player Story Mode and two-player Versus Mode which allows two players to battle against each other using separate Game Gears connected via cable link up. Additionally, there are several mini-games available which provide rewards such as extra energy or money when completed successfully.
Overall Foreman for Real is an enjoyable boxing game that offers plenty of replay value due to its varied gameplay modes and challenging opponents. Although some may find it slightly dated due to its graphics and sound effects, it remains an entertaining title that fans of classic gaming should definitely check out!
