Super Famicom Wars is a turn-based strategy game developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). The game was released in Japan on March 14, 1998 and was later released in North America and Europe as part of the Super NES Classic Edition.

The game is set in an alternate future where two powerful nations, Orange Star and Blue Moon, are engaged in a war over resources. Players take control of one of these countries as they attempt to outwit their opponents with strategic military maneuvers. The goal is to either conquer all enemy bases or capture their commander-in-chief. To do this players must build an army from a variety of units including infantry, tanks, helicopters, bombers and battleships. These armies can then be deployed on the battlefield to battle for control of resources such as cities, factories and ports.

Players can also use special abilities such as air strikes and long-range artillery attacks to gain an advantage over their opponents. As they progress through the game they will unlock more powerful units and gain access to new tactics that will help them prevail against their enemies.

The visuals in Super Famicom Wars are simple yet effective, with an isometric view that allows players to easily view the battlefield and plan their strategies accordingly. The soundtrack consists of upbeat music that adds to the intensity of each battle as well as providing a sense of urgency when time is running out for one side or another.

Super Famicom Wars has been praised for its accessible yet deep gameplay mechanics which have kept it popular among strategy fans since its release over twenty years ago. It has also been noted for its replay value due to its branching campaign structure which can lead to different outcomes depending on how you play it. Overall Super Famicom Wars remains one of the best turn-based strategy games ever made and continues to be enjoyed by gamers today thanks to rereleases on modern consoles such as the Nintendo Switch.
