Super Back to the Future Part II is a classic 16-bit platformer released for the Super Nintendo in 1993. It was developed by Beam Software and published by LJN. The game follows the story of the 1989 film sequel, Back to the Future Part II. Players take control of Marty McFly as he travels through time in order to prevent a disastrous future from coming true.
The game starts off with Marty arriving in Hill Valley 1985, where he must collect items and defeat enemies in order to progress through the game. In addition to standard platforming elements such as jumping, running, and shooting, Marty can also use a hoverboard to get around obstacles and reach new areas. The hoverboard can be used to jump over enemies or even grind along rails for faster travel.
Marty’s main goal is to collect pieces of the “Time Circuit” which will allow him to travel back and forth between different points in time. As he progresses through each level, Marty must battle various enemies, including Biff Tannen’s gang members, robotic drones, and even giant robots from an alternate timeline. After collecting all of the Time Circuit parts, Marty must make his way back to Hill Valley 1985 and confront Biff Tannen himself in order to save his own future from being altered forever.
The gameplay of Super Back To The Future Part II is quite varied; it features both action-oriented levels and puzzle-based levels that require careful exploration and problem solving skills. Each level contains hidden items that can be collected for bonus points, such as extra lives or special power-ups like invincibility or rapid fire weapons. Additionally, certain levels contain secret areas that can only be accessed by using certain items or techniques found throughout the game world.
Overall Super Back To The Future Part II is an enjoyable action-platformer with plenty of variety that fans of the movie are sure to enjoy. With its unique time-traveling plotline coupled with top notch visuals and sound design, this game stands out as one of the best titles available on the Super Nintendo system at that time period.
