Little Magic is a 1993 action-adventure video game developed and published by Irem Software Engineering for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). The game follows a young girl named Elin, who is sent on a quest to save her grandmother from an evil sorcerer. Players must explore various dungeons, battle monsters and solve puzzles in order to progress through the story.
The main objective of Little Magic is to collect seven magical stones called “Astriths”. These stones are scattered throughout the world and can only be found by exploring different areas, solving puzzles and defeating enemies. In addition to collecting Astriths, Elin must also find special items that will help her on her quest. These items can be found inside treasure chests or as rewards from defeated enemies.
Players control Elin using the D-pad and two action buttons, one for attacking with her sword and one for using magic spells. Elin has access to four different weapon types – swords, spears, maces and bows – as well as four magical spells which can be used to damage enemies or restore health points. As Elin defeats enemies she gains experience points which increase her stats such as attack power, defense power and magic power.
In addition to battling monsters, players must also solve puzzles in order to progress through Little Magic’s dungeons. Puzzles range from simple switch puzzles where players must activate certain switches in the right order to more complex logic puzzles where players must figure out how to manipulate objects in order to complete a task.
Little Magic features vibrant 16-bit graphics with detailed sprites and backgrounds as well as an upbeat soundtrack composed by Yuzo Koshiro. The game also includes several bonus levels which can be accessed by completing certain tasks within the main game such as finding hidden secret doors or defeating all of the bosses in a particular area.
Overall Little Magic is an enjoyable action-adventure title that combines exciting combat with challenging puzzles in an engaging world filled with colorful characters and interesting locations. The game has become something of a cult classic over the years due its unique gameplay mechanics and charming visuals making it worth checking out for fans of classic SNES titles or anyone looking for an enjoyable adventure experience on the console
