Earthworm Jim 2 is a side-scrolling platform video game released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). Developed by Shiny Entertainment and published by Playmates Interactive Entertainment, it was released in North America on November 15, 1995. It is the sequel to the 1994 video game Earthworm Jim.

The game follows the same basic premise as its predecessor, with players controlling an earthworm named Jim in his quest to save Princess What's-Her-Name from her captor, Psy-Crow. However, this time around, Jim’s mission involves traveling through four distinct intergalactic worlds: New Junk City, The Lost World of Ugh!, What The Heck?! and Big Bruty. Each world features its own unique set of enemies and levels that must be completed in order to advance to the next world. Along the way, players can collect powerups such as health upgrades, extra lives and weapons that can help them in their quest.

Gameplay wise, Earthworm Jim 2 remains largely unchanged from its predecessor. The controls are still tight and responsive as ever and players can still use a variety of moves to navigate obstacles and defeat enemies. Players have access to a wide range of weapons including plasma guns, rocket launchers and laser cannons that can be used against enemies throughout each level. Additionally, special items such as invincibility orbs or time warps can also be collected for temporary power boosts or a speed boost respectively.

In addition to the single player campaign mode there is also a two-player versus mode where up to four people can battle each other in various levels using their chosen characters. This mode adds an extra layer of replayability if you’re looking for some competitive fun with friends or family members.

Graphically speaking, Earthworm Jim 2 looks great on SNES hardware with detailed sprites and vibrant colors making up each stage’s unique visuals. The soundtrack is also catchy and varied with lots of memorable tunes playing throughout each level which helps keep things interesting while playing through them multiple times.

Overall Earthworm Jim 2 is an excellent follow up to its predecessor that keeps all of what made the original so enjoyable while adding even more content for fans who want more out of their gaming experience. If you’re looking for some classic platforming action then you really cannot go wrong with this title!
