Rainbow Islands - The Story of Bubble Bobble 2 is a classic Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) game released in 1990 by Taito. It is the sequel to the hit NES game Bubble Bobble, and follows the story of the two protagonists, Bubby and Bobby. The player controls either one of these characters as they embark on an adventure through seven different islands, each with its own unique theme. The goal of the game is to reach the end of each island while avoiding obstacles and enemies. Along the way, power-ups can be collected which will aid in defeating enemies and progressing further into the game.

In addition to single-player mode, Rainbow Islands also features a two-player cooperative mode where both players can work together to complete levels faster and gain more points than playing alone. This mode allows for intense competition between friends as they race to collect more gems or defeat enemies quicker than their opponent.
