Kings Knight is a classic 8-bit side-scrolling shooter released by Square Enix (formerly known as SquareSoft) in 1986 for the Nintendo Entertainment System. The game follows the story of four brave knights, Sir Gawain, Sir Lancelot, Sir Percival and Sir Galahad, who must save the kingdom from an evil wizard known as Gyorn.

The game begins with King Lionheart entrusting his four bravest knights with a quest to save his kingdom from the dreaded Gyorn. After being granted a magical shield by the king, they set out on their mission to defeat Gyorn and restore peace to the kingdom. Along the way, they must battle hordes of monsters and navigate treacherous terrain in order to reach their destination.

Gameplay consists of controlling one of the four knights through various levels while destroying enemies and avoiding obstacles such as bottomless pits, rolling boulders, and fireballs. Each knight has their own unique weapon and special abilities which can be used against enemies or used to traverse certain areas of each level. For example, Sir Galahad can fire arrows at enemies from afar while Sir Percival can use his sword to break through certain walls. Defeating enemies will earn points which can be used to purchase items such as extra lives or power-ups that enhance your knight’s abilities.

In addition to the single player mode, Kings Knight also offers a two player cooperative mode where both players control two knights simultaneously. This allows both players to work together in order to complete levels more quickly or provide additional firepower when facing difficult enemy encounters. Players are also able to compete against each other in an arena stage where they must battle each other using their respective weapons and special abilities in order to achieve victory.

Kings Knight is an entertaining 8-bit side scrolling shooter with colorful visuals, catchy music, and fast paced action that will keep players engaged for hours on end. It is easy enough for beginners yet challenging enough for experienced gamers due its various levels of difficulty and its innovative two player cooperative mode which adds an extra layer of strategy and teamwork into gameplay.
