Eliminator Boat Duel is a classic Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) racing game released in 1987. The game is set on a series of waterways, with the player taking control of one of two boats – the red Eliminator and the blue Challenger. The objective of the game is to be the first boat to cross the finish line at each race course.
The player must maneuver their boat around various obstacles such as rocks, logs, buoys and other boats while avoiding getting hit by enemy fire from their opponent. The player also has access to a variety of power-ups which can give them an advantage over their opponent including speed boosts, shields and weapons such as missiles and mines.
The controls in Eliminator Boat Duel are relatively simple yet effective, consisting only of left and right on the D-pad to move your boat in either direction and A or B buttons to activate whatever power-up is currently selected. The graphics are basic but still look quite good compared to other games from that era and the sound effects are quite catchy too.
The single player mode consists of three tracks which become increasingly difficult as you progress through them. There is also a two-player mode which allows you and a friend to compete against each other on any track, adding some replayability to the game.
Overall, Eliminator Boat Duel is an excellent NES racing game that still holds up today thanks to its simple yet addictive gameplay. It’s definitely worth playing for fans of retro gaming or anyone who enjoys classic racing games.
