Mr. Nutz is a classic platformer video game for the Nintendo Game Boy Color, released in 1994 by Ocean Software. The game follows the adventures of an anthropomorphic squirrel named Mr. Nutz as he travels throughout five different worlds to defeat his arch-nemesis, the evil Baron von Schlemmer. Along the way, Mr. Nutz must battle various enemies and bosses while collecting power-ups and special items to help him on his quest.
The game consists of five levels, each with their own unique environment and challenges. The first level is set in a forest where Mr. Nutz must navigate through dangerous obstacles such as spike pits and rolling logs while battling enemies like bats and snakes. The second level takes place inside a haunted castle filled with traps and monsters like ghosts and skeletons. In the third level, Mr. Nutz embarks on a journey through an icy mountain range where he must dodge snowballs and icicles while fighting off arctic creatures like polar bears and penguins. The fourth level is set in a futuristic cityscape where Mr. Nutz must use elevators, trampolines, and conveyor belts to make his way through robotic enemies like robots and laser turrets. Finally, the fifth level is set in outer space where Mr. Nutz must face off against aliens before confronting Baron von Schlemmer at the end of the game for one final showdown.
Throughout each level, players can collect coins which can be used to purchase helpful items from shops scattered throughout each world such as health potions or extra lives. Players can also collect various power-ups ranging from enhanced jumping ability to invincibility which can help them traverse difficult obstacles or fight off stronger enemies more easily. Additionally, there are hidden bonus stages located throughout each world that will reward players with extra points if they manage to complete them successfully within a certain amount of time limit .
Mr Nutz was well received upon its release due to its colorful graphics, catchy soundtrack, tight controls, challenging gameplay ,and charming characters . It has since become something of a cult classic amongst platformer fans due to its unique style of play which combines traditional platforming elements with RPG mechanics . As such , it remains fondly remembered by many fans who grew up playing it on their Game Boy Color systems .
