Players control Spider-Man through various levels in which they must fight enemies and progress through different tasks.

The main objective of each level is to defeat all of the villains and restore peace to New York City.

To do this, players must use all of Spider-Man's abilities such as web swinging, wall crawling, and using his web shooters to take out enemies or solve puzzles.

Players can also collect power ups such as extra health or special moves that will help them in their mission.

One unique feature of this game is its use of 3D graphics for characters and environments; something rarely seen on a Nintendo Game Boy Color title at the time.

This gave the game a very realistic look that was only enhanced by its great soundtrack composed by Mark Mothersbaugh from Devo fame.

In terms of gameplay, Spider-Man 2: The Sinister Six is quite enjoyable despite its linear progression system which can become repetitive after some time.

Despite this issue though, there are enough side missions to keep players occupied for a while as they explore every corner of New York City looking for power ups or hidden items.
