Mortal Kombat II is a classic fighting game released in 1993 and is the second installment in the Mortal Kombat series. Developed by Midway Games, it was originally released for arcades and later ported to several home consoles, including the Sega 32X.

The game features a roster of iconic characters from the Mortal Kombat universe, such as Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Liu Kang and Raiden. The objective of the game is to defeat opponents using special moves and combos in order to progress through the tournament. The tournament structure is similar to that of its predecessor, but with double elimination brackets and several bosses added throughout.

Mortal Kombat II introduced several new features which were not present in its predecessor. These include multiple fatalities per character, stage fatalities, combo breakers and an improved AI system. New characters were also added to the roster; some notable additions include Baraka, Kitana, Mileena, Jade and Reptile.

The Sega 32X version of Mortal Kombat II contains all of the content found on other versions of the game. However, due to hardware limitations on this platform there are some differences between this version and others; these include a reduced color palette, less detailed graphics and no background music or sound effects during fights. Despite these drawbacks though it still remains an enjoyable experience overall thanks to its fast-paced action and intense gameplay mechanics.

Mortal Kombat II has been highly praised over the years for its intense action and violent visuals. It has also been credited with popularizing fighting games as a genre due to its success in arcades around the world. To this day it continues to be enjoyed by many old school gamers who fondly remember playing it in their local arcades back in 1993.
