Wacky Worlds is a Sega Genesis/Mega Drive game developed by Virgin Interactive in 1993. It is an educational game designed to teach children about geography, history, and culture through exploration and problem solving.
The game takes place in a fictional world called "Polygonica", which consists of eight different regions: the African Savannah, the Arabian Desert, Ancient China, the North American Prairie, Australia's Outback, Pre-Columbian Mexico, India's Jungles and the Frozen North. Each region has its own unique features and inhabitants. The player controls a character called "Shaggy" who can travel between these regions using a magical globe.
The goal of each level is to explore and solve puzzles in order to progress through the game. These puzzles can range from finding hidden objects or completing mini-games such as matching shapes or playing musical instruments. As players progress they are rewarded with new items that will help them complete future levels.
In addition to exploring and solving puzzles, players must also learn about each region's culture by talking to its inhabitants. This involves learning about their customs and language as well as understanding their way of life. Players can also interact with the environment by collecting resources such as food or wood for building structures or weapons for hunting animals.
The overall objective of Wacky Worlds is to collect all eight pieces of an ancient artifact known as "The Key". Once all pieces have been collected the player must find their way back home while battling enemies along the way. The game ends once Shaggy returns home with The Key in hand.
Overall Wacky Worlds is an interesting mix of education and entertainment that encourages players to explore different cultures while having fun at the same time. It provides an immersive experience where players learn valuable lessons about geography, history and culture through exploration and problem solving tasks.
