Pengo is a classic Sega game gear game released in the early 1990s. The game revolves around Pengo, an anthropomorphic penguin who is trying to save his friends from the evil Sno-Bees. The player must navigate through mazes of ice blocks in order to reach the exit. Along the way, they must also avoid being frozen by the Sno-Bees and collect power ups such as diamonds and extra lives.

The main objective of each level is to eliminate all of the Sno-Bees before they can freeze Pengo’s friends. This can be accomplished by pushing ice blocks into them or using special power up items such as bombs which will destroy any Sno-Bee in their radius. As well as eliminating Sno-Bees, the player must also collect as many diamonds and extra lives as possible in order to progress further in the game and score bonus points at the end of each level.

The levels feature a variety of hazards that must be navigated around or destroyed including walls, pits and snowballs which can push Pengo away if he touches them. As well as this, there are also a range of enemies found throughout each level including snowmen which will throw snowballs at Pengo if he gets too close and giant birds which can swoop down and steal some of his diamonds.

The graphics for Pengo are quite basic but still colourful enough to be enjoyable. The music is also catchy with its 8 bit tunes making it a pleasure to listen to while playing through each stage. Overall, Pengo is a simple yet addictive game that provides hours of fun for those looking for an old school gaming experience on their Sega Game Gear console.
