Kaitou Saint Tail is a side-scrolling platformer video game developed and published by Sega for the Sega Game Gear in 1995. It was released only in Japan. The player takes control of Meimi Haneoka, a 14-year-old girl who is a student at St. Paulia Academy and also moonlights as the mysterious phantom thief Saint Tail.

The game's story follows Meimi as she attempts to outwit the police and keep her identity as Saint Tail a secret while recovering stolen items that were taken from people who have been wronged by criminals. In order to succeed, she must use her wits, gadgets, and acrobatic skills to traverse each level and overcome obstacles such as enemies, traps, and other hazards.

At the start of each level, Meimi must choose one of three gadgets to assist her in completing it: a rope for swinging across gaps; an umbrella for floating down from high places; or an airplane for flying over obstacles. She can also pick up items such as coins that can be used to purchase additional gadgets from shops located throughout the levels or special items needed to progress further.

The game features six levels that take place in various locations such as shopping malls, amusement parks, museums, laboratories, castles, and more. Each level consists of two main stages – an Action Stage where Meimi must traverse platforms while avoiding enemies and collecting coins; and an Adventure Stage where she has to find clues or items that will help her complete the level. There are also boss fights at the end of each stage which require quick reflexes and clever strategies to defeat them.

Kaitou Saint Tail offers players a unique experience due its combination of action platforming with puzzle solving elements. Players must figure out how to use their gadgets effectively in order to get past obstacles while also making sure they don't let any enemies catch up with them so they can reach their goals before time runs out.
