Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is a video game released in 1992 by Sega for the Game Gear. It is based on the movie of the same name, and follows Indiana Jones as he searches for the Holy Grail. The game follows a similar structure to that of its console counterparts, with levels set in various locations around Europe and the Middle East. Players must use Indy’s whip, gun, and other items to progress through each level. In addition to avoiding enemies and solving puzzles, players must also collect artifacts that will help them progress through the game.
The game features several different levels of play, including an introductory stage where players can familiarize themselves with controls and gameplay mechanics. After this stage, players enter a map screen where they can choose which level they wish to play next. Each level presents new challenges and objectives that must be completed in order to progress further into the game. These objectives range from collecting items or keys needed to open doors, defeating enemies using Indy’s signature whip or gunplay techniques, or solving puzzles that require logical thinking or exploration.
Players are given three lives at the start of each stage; however, these can be replenished by finding hearts scattered throughout each level or by picking up extra lives awarded after completing certain levels. As players progress through the game they will also find special items such as bombs which can be used to clear obstacles or destroy enemies in their way.
At various points during gameplay, players will encounter boss fights which present more difficult challenges than normal stages; these bosses often require specific strategies in order to defeat them successfully. If all of these objectives are completed within a certain amount of time then players will be rewarded with bonus points at the end of each stage; however failure to complete any task within this time limit will result in a loss of one life for every second remaining on the clock when it runs out.
Finally upon completion of all stages in Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade for Game Gear, players are presented with a final challenge where they must locate and retrieve The Holy Grail before escaping from an ancient temple filled with traps and enemies before time runs out; success here leads directly into an ending sequence showing Indy victorious with his prize!
