Fantastic Dizzy is a video game developed by Codemasters and published for the Sega Game Gear in 1993. The game follows the adventures of Dizzy, the egg-shaped hero from the Yolkfolk series, as he attempts to save his beloved Yolkfolk from an evil wizard named Zaks.
The game is a side-scrolling platformer with puzzle elements and features colorful graphics and sound. Players take control of Dizzy as they navigate through various levels filled with enemies, traps, and power ups. Along the way, they must search for items that can be used to progress through levels or gain access to new areas.
Gameplay consists of navigating each level while avoiding enemies and obstacles while collecting items such as keys or coins. As players progress through the game, they will unlock additional levels that offer new challenges such as different enemies or puzzles. In order to complete each level, players must find all of the items needed to open up the exit door.
The main goal in Fantastic Dizzy is to rescue all seven members of the Yolkfolk from Zaks’s castle at the end of each world. To do this, players must collect enough coins throughout their journey so that they can purchase a special key that unlocks the castle door at each world’s end. Along with rescuing all seven Yolkfolk, there are also bonus objectives available that reward players with extra points if completed within certain time limits or without taking damage from enemies.
Fantastic Dizzy was well-received upon its release for its fun and challenging gameplay, charming visuals, and catchy soundtrack. Today it remains one of many beloved titles in the classic Sega Game Gear library and continues to provide hours of enjoyment for fans both old and new alike.
