Virtual Bart is a 1994 Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) video game developed by Imagineering and published by Acclaim. It was based on the animated television series The Simpsons, and follows the misadventures of Bart Simpson as he navigates a virtual world in which anything can happen. The game consists of six levels, each of which presents a different environment and challenges for Bart to overcome.
The first level sees Bart entering a virtual reality world, where he must find his way through an amusement park. Here, he must avoid obstacles such as rollercoasters, runaway rides and giant robots while collecting tokens that will allow him to progress further. The second level takes place in a pirate ship, where Bart must battle enemies such as skeleton pirates and giant octopuses while collecting various items. The third level is set in an alien planet, where Bart must dodge hostile aliens and collect power-ups before reaching the end of the stage. The fourth level is set in an underwater city, where Bart must swim past dangerous creatures to reach the exit. The fifth level takes place in a haunted house filled with ghosts and other creatures that are out to get him; here, he must collect keys to unlock doors and progress further. Finally, the sixth level is set in outer space; here, Bart must battle aliens while avoiding asteroids before reaching the final boss – an evil robot named Professor Frinkenstein.
Throughout these levels, players control Bart using simple directional buttons or a joystick. They can also make use of special power-ups such as invincibility stars or super strength pills that grant temporary bonuses when used correctly. Additionally, there are bonus stages scattered throughout each level that give players extra points if completed successfully. Once all six levels have been completed successfully, players receive bonus rounds featuring mini-games such as pinball or slot machines which give them even more points upon completion.
Overall Virtual Bart is an enjoyable game with classic 2D platformer gameplay that makes it easy to pick up and play for both newcomers and experienced gamers alike. It’s colorful visuals bring the world of The Simpsons to life in 16-bit glory; its catchy soundtrack ensures that every stage has its own unique feel; its variety of environments keeps things fresh from start to finish; its challenge never feels too overwhelming but still requires some skillful maneuvering to complete; and most importantly it’s just plain fun!
