Through a series of quests, players must explore Britannia and its many lands in order to uncover the secrets behind the Guardian’s plans.
Gameplay in Ultima VII consists of exploring various locations within Britannia on foot or horseback, conversing with NPCs, solving puzzles and engaging in combat. Combat takes place in turn-based rounds where characters can use melee weapons or magical spells to defeat their enemies. Players can also customize their party by recruiting NPCs they meet throughout their journey. In addition to these standard RPG elements, Ultima VII includes unique features such as an advanced conversation system where players can ask questions and respond with multiple options based on context clues provided by NPCs.
