Terminator 2 – Judgment Day is a Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) video game based on the 1991 science fiction action film of the same name. Developed by Bits Studios and published by LJN, it was released in 1993 and features various levels with different objectives and enemies. The player takes control of either Sarah Connor or her son John as they attempt to stop Skynet from launching its nuclear missiles.
The game begins with a cutscene showing Sarah and John being pursued by the T-1000, one of Skynet’s cyborg assassins. After escaping the T-1000, they make their way to Cyberdyne Systems where they must destroy the computer core that controls Skynet’s defense systems. From there, they travel to an abandoned steel mill to find a toolbox containing items necessary for their mission. They then head to an underground bunker where they confront the T-800, another cyborg sent by Skynet. After defeating it, they make their way to a nuclear power plant where they must shut down the reactors before time runs out.
Once this is accomplished, Sarah and John must go back to Cyberdyne Systems and deactivate the mainframe computer that controls Skynet’s defense systems. This will cause all of Skynet’s weapons to become inactive and allow them to escape safely. Finally, after making their way through an underground tunnel system, Sarah and John confront Skynet itself in a final battle on top of its tower. If successful, they will be able to prevent Judgment Day from occurring and save humanity from destruction.
Terminator 2 – Judgment Day features detailed graphics that capture the look of the movie very well. The game also features various sound effects taken directly from the film which add greatly to its atmosphere. The gameplay consists mostly of shooting enemies while avoiding enemy fire or using traps set up around each level in order to complete objectives faster or eliminate multiple enemies at once. Players can also collect power-ups such as extra health or ammunition throughout each level which can prove invaluable during particularly difficult sequences.
Overall, Terminator 2 – Judgment Day is an enjoyable SNES title that does justice to its source material while providing players with plenty of action-packed levels filled with challenging objectives and exciting boss battles against powerful cyborgs sent by Skynet itself!
