NBA Live 95 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) is a basketball video game released in 1995. The game was developed and published by Electronic Arts and was the first installment of the NBA Live series. The game was released to critical acclaim and was praised for its realism, fast-paced gameplay, and accurate representation of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
The game features all 27 teams from the 1994–1995 NBA season, as well as 13 international teams. Players have the option to play with any team in either exhibition or season mode. Exhibition mode allows players to choose one or two teams to play against each other while Season mode allows players to compete over an entire season with their chosen team. In both modes, players can also adjust various settings such as quarter length, difficulty level, fatigue level, and more.
Players have control over their chosen team’s offense and defense. On offense they can choose between passing or shooting options while on defense they can select from different strategies such as full court press or zone defense. Additionally, players have access to special moves such as dunks and alley-oops which can be used to create exciting plays on the court.
The game’s graphics are quite good for its time with detailed player models that accurately represent their real-life counterparts in terms of size and shape. Animations are smooth and fluid which helps create a realistic feel when playing the game. The sound design is also quite good with digitized crowd noises that add authenticity to the experience.
Overall NBA Live 95 for SNES is an excellent basketball simulation that provides an enjoyable experience regardless of skill level or familiarity with basketball games in general. It has aged well despite being released 25 years ago and is still a great way for fans of basketball games to get some nostalgic thrills today.
