Lagoon is a top-down action RPG developed by Kemco and released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) in 1991. The game takes place in a fantasy world called Lagoon, which is home to four races: Humans, Elves, Dwarves and Merfolk. The player takes control of a young human warrior named Leo who sets out on an epic quest to save the world from evil forces.

The game features several different types of gameplay, including side-scrolling levels, overhead exploration sections and dungeons. During the side-scrolling portions of the game, players must battle monsters using weapons such as swords and axes. In the overhead exploration sections, players can explore towns and visit merchants to purchase items and upgrades for their character. Dungeons are randomized mazes filled with powerful monsters, traps and hidden treasures. Players can also collect magical spells that can be used during battles or to solve puzzles in order to progress through the game.

The main objective of Lagoon is to collect four magical keys that are needed to open a portal leading to the final boss of the game. Along the way, players will encounter numerous enemies such as dragons, trolls and giant spiders that must be defeated before progressing further into the game. Players will also come across friendly NPCs who offer advice or provide assistance in exchange for gold coins or items found throughout the world of Lagoon.

In addition to its single-player campaign, Lagoon also features a two-player cooperative mode where both players control one character each with separate inventories and spell selections. This allows both players to work together in order to complete objectives or defeat bosses more easily than if playing alone.

Overall, Lagoon is an enjoyable action RPG that offers up plenty of content for fans of classic RPGs from this era. With its varied gameplay styles and challenging dungeons, it remains one of the best titles available on SNES today despite its age.
