Harley's Humongous Adventure is a side-scrolling platform game developed by Black Pearl Software and published by Electronic Arts for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1993. The game stars Harley, a young boy who has been shrunken to the size of an ant and must traverse through his house while avoiding various hazards.
The game begins with Harley being shrunk to the size of an ant due to an experiment gone wrong. He must now explore his house and find all the pieces of the shrinking machine scattered throughout in order to restore himself back to normal size. Along the way, he'll need to avoid various obstacles such as giant spiders, rats, and other creatures that are much larger than him. He can also use helpful items such as balloons and ladders to help him reach higher areas or cross large gaps.
The levels are filled with various objects that can be used for Harley's benefit such as switches that open doors or levers that activate elevators. There are also special items hidden throughout each level which may provide helpful bonuses like extra lives or invincibility. As he progresses through each area, Harley will come across boss battles where he'll need to defeat larger foes in order to move on. Once all of the pieces of the shrinking machine have been collected, Harley will be able to restore himself back to his original size and win the game.
Harley's Humongous Adventure is a challenging yet enjoyable platformer with simple controls and colorful visuals. Its levels offer plenty of variety with their puzzles and enemies while its upbeat soundtrack helps keep players engaged during their quest for victory. Though it may not be remembered as one of the more popular SNES games, Harley's Humongous Adventure remains a solid title worth playing today.
