The objective of Dragon’s Lair is to guide the hero, Dirk the Daring, through a series of levels as he searches for Princess Daphne, who has been kidnapped by an evil dragon. Along the way, Dirk must battle monsters and collect items that will help him progress through each level. Gameplay wise, Dragon’s Lair is similar to other platformers from its time period. Players must navigate through levels while avoiding enemies and obstacles. Dirk has a limited number of lives at his disposal; if he runs out of them then it's Game Over! In order to progress further into the game players must find keys that open locked doors leading them further into each level. Additionally there are several power-ups scattered throughout each stage that allow Dirk to temporarily become invincible or gain access to special weapons or abilities that can help him defeat enemies or traverse certain areas more easily.

Overall Dragon’s Lair is an enjoyable platformer with some unique elements that make it stand out among others from its era. Its colorful graphics combined with catchy music make it an enjoyable experience even today; it makes for a great nostalgia trip back to gaming during the early 90s!
