Biker Mice From Mars is a side-scrolling action-adventure video game released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) in 1994. Developed by Konami and published by Bandai, the game is based on the animated television series of the same name. The player takes control of one of three biker mice from outer space — Throttle, Modo, and Vinnie — as they battle against their nemesis, Lawrence Limburger, to save their home planet of Mars from destruction.
The game features seven levels which take place on Earth and in outer space. The levels are divided into three parts: a city area with various enemies to fight; an underground area filled with puzzles and traps; and a final boss stage where the player must defeat Limburger's minions. Each level has its own distinct style and gameplay elements such as platforms to jump across, items to collect, switches to activate, and bosses to defeat before advancing to the next level.
The controls are relatively simple but effective: players can move left or right using the directional pad or joystick; press A or B to jump; press X or Y to attack; press L or R to use special weapons such as bombs or missiles; hold down Start for an item menu; and press Select for an options menu. Players can also use items found throughout each level such as health packs, extra lives, invulnerability power-ups, etc.
Players will encounter many different types of enemies throughout their journey including robots armed with laser guns, giant spiders that shoot webs at them, aliens that throw rocks at them, etc. The enemies become increasingly difficult as players progress through each level and require more strategy in order to be defeated. Additionally, some levels have bonus stages where players can collect valuable items such as extra lives or energy tanks that increase their overall health bar.
The graphics are colorful and detailed with vibrant backgrounds that change depending on which level you’re playing in. The music is catchy and upbeat while still being appropriate for the theme of each stage. All in all Biker Mice From Mars is a fun adventure game that captures the spirit of its source material while providing an enjoyable gaming experience for those who want a break from more intense titles like Street Fighter II or Mortal Kombat III
