Battle Jockey is a Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) game released in 1995. Developed by KID, it is a hybrid of two genres: racing and fighting. The player takes control of a jockey who must race against opponents while also engaging in combat with them.
The game consists of five levels and each level has a different theme and type of enemy. The goal is to reach the end of the course before the other racers while avoiding obstacles and enemies. To do this, players can use various weapons, items, and power-ups that are scattered throughout the course or dropped by defeated opponents. Additionally, players can upgrade their jockey's stats such as speed, strength, stamina, and luck by collecting coins during the races.
Players can choose from six different characters at the start of the game with varying attributes such as speed and strength. As they progress through each level they will unlock new characters as well as bonus stages where they can earn more coins to upgrade their stats further.
The controls are relatively simple; players move their character with the directional pad while using buttons to attack or use items. Players can also perform special moves by combining button presses together for additional damage or protection from opponents' attacks.
Battle Jockey is an exciting combination of racing and fighting that provides hours of fun for players of all ages. With its colorful graphics, catchy music, responsive controls, and interesting characters it remains one of the best games on SNES today.
