The Bass Masters Classic is a classic video game released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) in 1993. It was developed by Hot-B and published by Black Pearl Software. The game puts players in the shoes of a professional bass fisherman, competing against computer controlled opponents in tournaments across six different lakes. Players must use their angling skills to catch as many fish as possible while avoiding obstacles like rocks, stumps, and lily pads.

Players can choose from four different characters: Tom Kelly, a veteran fisherman; Randy Boggs, an experienced angler; Jack Daley, a rookie; and Mike Roberts, who is described as an “amateur”. Each character has unique abilities that can be used to their advantage when competing against the computer-controlled opponents. For example, Tom Kelly has an advanced knowledge of tackle selection and lure placement which gives him an edge over his opponents.

The game features three gameplay modes: Tournament mode, Practice mode and Challenge mode. In Tournament mode players compete against up to five other computer-controlled opponents in a series of tournaments on six different lakes across North America. Points are earned based on the size of the fish caught and each tournament ends with the player with the highest points being declared the winner. In Practice mode players can practice their skills without any pressure or competition from other players or AI opponents. Finally Challenge mode allows players to compete against AI opponents on specific lake conditions such as low water levels or high winds that make fishing more difficult than usual.

The game also includes two mini-games which can be unlocked by achieving certain scores during gameplay: The Fishing Derby and Fishin' Frenzy! The Fishing Derby is a timed event where players must catch as many fish as possible within a set time limit while Fishin' Frenzy! is a fast paced arcade style game where players must dodge obstacles while trying to catch multiple fish at once using only one line and lure.

Bass Masters Classic is still considered one of the best fishing games ever made due to its realistic graphics, challenging gameplay and replayability provided by its various modes and mini-games. Its simple yet effective controls allow even novice gamers to quickly learn how to play while its competitive nature provides veteran gamers with plenty of challenge and excitement as they strive for victory on each lake they confront.
