Play Racket Attack Online
Racket Attack is a classic Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) game developed by Konami in 1988. It’s a two-player sports game based on the sport of racquetball and features single-screen solo challenge and competitive matches against a computer opponent or a second player.
In Racket Attack, players control their respective characters with an 8-way joystick and two action buttons – one for hitting the ball and another for serving. The court is presented from an overhead perspective with the players at either side of the net. Players can move their characters around freely, though they’ll need to be careful not to move too far away from the center line in order to prevent their opponent from scoring an easy point.
The object of the game is to score more points than your opponent over the course of four games, each lasting up to seven points. Points are scored when one player fails to hit the ball back over the net before it bounces twice on his/her side of the court. When serving, players can choose from three different types: flat, topspin, and slice. The type of serve used will affect how fast and high it travels across the court as well as its spin direction. Additionally, shots can be angled off walls for strategic play.
The controls may take some time getting used to but once you get them down you’ll find that Racket Attack is an enjoyable experience that offers plenty of opportunities for strategy and skillful play. The computer AI puts up a decent fight although you’ll likely find yourself having more fun when playing against another person.
Racket Attack is often overlooked due to its simplicity compared to other NES sports titles such as Ice Hockey or Baseball Stars but it remains a great choice for those looking for some quick racket-based action without all of the complexity found in those other titles. With its responsive controls and enjoyable gameplay, Racket Attack is sure to provide hours of entertainment whether playing alone or against a friend.
