Penguin-kun Wars is a classic Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) game that was released in Japan in 1987. It is a two-player competitive action game, where each player controls a penguin and must battle it out to be the last one standing. The objective of the game is to knock your opponent off of the playing field by jumping on them or shooting them with snowballs.

The game features two different modes: "Penguin Race" and "Battle Mode". In Penguin Race, players maneuver their penguins around an icy arena as they try to reach the finish line first. The Battle Mode pits two players against each other, with each player trying to eliminate the other using snowballs or by pushing them off of the arena. A single-player mode also exists, where players can compete against computer-controlled opponents.

Players control their penguins by using either a standard NES controller or a special "Penguin Wars Pad" controller which looks like a joystick but has buttons for firing snowballs and jumping instead of a joystick. The buttons are arranged such that it is easy to move one direction and fire snowballs at the same time. This allows for more strategic gameplay than just running around randomly shooting snowballs at your opponent.

The game features colorful graphics, catchy music, and fun sound effects which make it enjoyable to play even today. The levels increase in difficulty as you progress through them, providing hours of entertainment as you attempt to defeat your opponents and win the Penguin-kun War!
