Panic Restaurant is a 2D action platformer video game developed and published by Taito for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). The game was first released in Japan in 1992, and later released in North America and Europe in 1993. It is one of the few games to be released on the NES outside of Japan.
The player takes control of Chef Peter Pepper, who must run around a restaurant kitchen completing various tasks to proceed through each level. The objective of each level is to collect all the food ingredients that have been scattered around the kitchen before time runs out. As Chef Pepper collects more ingredients, he can cook them together to create new dishes which can be used against enemies or obstacles. Additionally, there are power-ups hidden throughout each level which can give Chef Pepper additional abilities such as invincibility or increased speed.
The levels are filled with various enemies such as rats, flies and spiders. These enemies will attempt to stop Chef Pepper from completing his tasks by attacking him or blocking his way. To defeat them, Chef Pepper must use either his frying pan or any dishes that he has cooked up during his journey. He also has access to special items such as bombs and ice cubes which can help him clear a path through some of the tougher levels.
Each level has its own unique layout and set of challenges for players to overcome before they can move on to the next stage. Players must navigate their way past obstacles such as moving platforms, conveyor belts and spike pits while avoiding enemies at the same time. As players progress further into the game, they will find themselves facing off against bosses with increasingly difficult strategies that must be countered in order to complete each level successfully.
Overall, Panic Restaurant is an enjoyable platformer experience which offers gamers an entertaining mix of challenging levels and fast-paced action gameplay. Despite its simplistic visuals, it manages to provide a unique twist on classic platforming mechanics while still providing plenty of challenge for players of all skill levels.
